INTERPRETER TRAINING
Southeast Interpreting and Translation Services (SITS) is your leading local trainer and provider of Public Service Interpreters and Translators. We advocate for the appropriate use of interpreters with communitites of other languages and cultures and Public Service Providers. Since the launch of the “Locally Trained Interpreters” project in 2004, SITS’ training portfolio and services have increased significantly. We are pleased to offer the following training:

COMMUNITY INTERPRETING - LEVEL 1, 2 & 3
Introduction to Community Interpreting - Level 1
OCN accredited Community Interpreting course
Community Interpreting - OCN accredited course offered at level 2 and 3. Suitable for bilingual speakers who wish to work as professional interpreters. Minimum entry criteria : level 2 in English and other language, experience in interpreting.

DIPLOMA IN PUBLIC SERVICE INTERPRETING - LAW OPTION
DPSI Law Option - Distance Learning Course
We are now accepting applications for the 2010 - 2011 DPSI course.
Distant learning preparatory course at level 6. This course is suitable for bilingual speakers who aim to take the IoL DPSI exam. Minimum entry criteria: Level 4 in English and other language, experience in interpreting, access to internet and skype.

ONE DAY TRAINING COURSES & WORKSHOPS
SITS also offer short courses or one day workshops to update interpreters on changes in systems and legislation, refresher courses and professional development.
Specialist training for practicing interpreters on pertinent subjects including Mental Health, Working with Vulnerable Adults, Age Assessments, Assertiveness, PACE Interviews and Statement Taking.
This training is available to SITS interpreters and translators ONLY.
IN HOUSE TRAINING
We provide free in house training for rare languages for the Bilingual & Cultural Support Scheme and interpreting. Terms and conditions apply. Please send your CV to training@southeastinterpreting to express your interest.
